1. Story as Practice and Power 1 Day (Sydney + Melbourne: see dates below)

For NFP, Government, arts organisations and other visionary bods

The relationships NFP’s have with their clients and stakeholders are the envy of the commercial world. Their stories are envied too: authentic, powerful and true to purpose. But stories are only powerful if we tell them and now more than ever, NFP’s need to tell their stories more. And better.

Moya brings 15 years experience and understanding of the sector to this vibrant workshop to show you

what a story is and what it’s not
the difference between stories and case studies
how to find the best stories
best practice and risk management
storygathering techniques
community engagement methods
stories for internal use: planning, change and culture
using stories to improve the impact of your reporting

This is a hands on workshops to set foundational understanding, establish best practice and gather tools to take away and use NOW.

Suitable for people throughout your organisation. Get a team together.

Moya has seen stories move mountains.. she wants you to move mountains too.

Brian Rathbone – Dunedin Workshop Participant

“I thought the day was amazing and uplifting… Moya and Dean were so passionate about storytelling and it was an honour to be attending a workshop that they were facilitating.”
Michelle Parr – Support Facilitator, Western Sydney Partners In Recovery (WSPIR)

“I came out very excited and inspired with lots of ideas of things going ahead, and great timing for my organisation. I loved hearing and sharing other peoples stories and I am looking forward to working that into the heart of our organisation!”
Marilyn Kelly – Auckland Workshop Participant

“Thank you for your inspirational presentation which has given renewed strength to our method of telling the wonderful story.”
Penny Reason – Visitor Services Coordinator, Alberton NZ

“Moya’s workshop helped me understand the importance of the role of story gatherer, how we can drive the process, encourage people to be involved, and ways of really drawing their stories out.”
Chris Barnard – Presbyterian Minister, Auckland NZ

“Great to see that you don’t need a big budget to create compelling content.”
GROW Workshop Participant – Auckland NZ

“Wonderfully useful, Moya’s character brings the workshop and art of storytelling to life. I’m inspired to tell great stories!”
Jenny Smith – GROW Workshop, Auckland NZ

“I am more determined to tell my story well after being in the workshop. As a woman with a disability for over 25 years there were many seasons of silence (no words) because I didn’t know myself or how to describe what was happening in my life. Now I am compelled to write my stories. I am more acutely attuned to hearing other stories by people with disabilities and creating an opportunity and environment for that to happen. This workshop was inspirational!”
Lindsay – Rotorua Inspiring Communities workshop
